Gemma's Feeding + Sleep Schedule (6 months)

Gemma

WOW! I cannot believe that Gemma is almost 6 months old (next week). Where did the time go?! I mean…the days have kind of been blending together the past few months since we escaped the city and have been living at my in-laws beach house. Not complaining about being quarantined here, but not being able to go anywhere has been a little hard on me.

The bright side is that I have been getting to spend tons of time with Gemma and watching her change every single day. It’s amazing to look at back at photos of her from when we first came down here in mid-March to now. It’s like she’s a different baby! She’s rolling over on her own and putting everything in her mouth. I’m pretty sure she’s getting her first tooth in!! Also, she’s verrrry chatty!! Loves to “talk” to anyone she sees in her baby babble. It’s adorable!

Anyways, I’m here to update you on Gemma’s latest eating and sleeping schedule for anyone looking for some structure to consider. We were lucky to have had our baby nurse sleep train her at 10 weeks old and now at almost 6 months, it’s pretty much been the same.

In the morning, she will usually wake up around 6 / 6:30AM, but we won’t go into her room until 7AM at the earliest. She’ll lay there and “talk” to herself and stare at her mobile, then fall back asleep. Louis leaves for work around 6:15AM, so he’ll go into her room and give her a morning kiss (so cute). Unless she’s crying for any reason, we leave her in there. This has allowed her to really adjust to her schedule later in the day.

Gemma’s feeding and sleeping schedule:

+ 7:00 / 7:30AM – Feeding + story time. 7oz of HIPP stage 1 formula. After she’s done, we read 2-3 books.

+ 9:30AM – Naptime. Usually sleeps until 10:30 / 11AM.

+ 11 / 11:30AM – Feeding. 2oz solid food + 4oz of formula. (I make & freeze her food. More to come on this)

+ 1 / 1:30PM – Naptime. Usually sleeps until 3 / 3:30PM. This is her longest nap.

+ 3:30PM – Feeding. 7oz of formula.

+ 5:00PM – Naptime. This is a short snooze (30 minutes). We don’t let her sleep past 6:00PM.

+ 6:00PM – Sponge or Bathtime. We bathe her every other night & sponger down every morning + nights she doesn’t get a bath.

+ 7:30PM – Feeding + Bedtime. 8oz of formula.

*She will usually fall asleep in my arms after she’s done eating her last bottle and occasionally wake up when we put her down in her crib. I will leave her in there if she’s just awake and smiling and she will soothe herself to sleep with the pacifier (or most recently, her thumb). If she’s crying, I’ll go in there and give her the pacifier again and rub her belly to soothe her.

As much as I would LOVE to nap with her- my favorite is when she would fall asleep on me- I put her in her crib to keep her on a strict schedule. It not easy, but it really has helped! Hope this was helpful & I’ll share an updated schedule in a few months! xx
