Morning Beauty Smoothie

This fiber packed, plant-based protein morning beauty smoothie is more powerful than a huge cup of coffee, packed with tons of health benefits and delicious tasting ingredients! 

 

I personally found that drinking this smoothie- every morning- for just one week, has improved my skin by giving it a natural glow, has improved my digestion, my energy levels have become more steady, my mental clarity to focus on projects throughout the day and my physical performance has all improved.

I broke down a few of the major ingredients and quickly explained just a few of the benefits to give you guys a better understanding of why this smoothie is so great. The fruit additions (strawberry and banana) are personal favorites, but feel free to substitute with another form of sweetener! I love the creamy texture that the banana adds and the strawberries compliment the banana's sweet taste!

 

Aloe Plant: Contains eight enzymes along with antioxidant vitamins A, C and E — plus vitamin B12, folic acid and choline. The leaf also contains minerals such as calcium, copper, selenium, chromium, manganese, magnesium, potassium, sodium and zinc. Because of the 12 powerful anthraquinones — or compounds known as laxatives, it helps with balancing your body's PH levels and helps soothe your gut, which is responsible for your energy levels, skin complexion, bloating, and much much more.

 

Ginger: High in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. The spicy root has 

an incredible amount of benefits such as indigestion, nausea, immunity, antibacterial benefits, relieves pain, naturally improves diabetes, and many more. 

 

Spinach: Low in fat and even lower in cholesterol, spinach is high in niacin and zinc, as well as protein, fiber, vitamins A, C, E and K, thiamin, vitamin B6, folate, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, copper, and manganese.

 

Lemon: A great source of potassium, magnesium and copper - aids is digestion and detoxification.

 

Mint: Helps digestions, nausea, relieves fatigue and depression, helps to clear up congestion, improves oral health and much more.

 

Coconut Water: High in potassium, making it a natural electrolyte drink. Electrolytes are critical to maintain blood volume, heart health, and well as to prevent dehydration. Maintaining electrolyte levels can help reduce fatigue, stress, and help maintain muscle relaxation.

 

Collagen: Improves the health of hair, skin, nails, teeth and joint pains. This also means it helps to reduce cellulite and stretch marks! The miracle powder also helps to heal leaky gut, boosts metabolism, muscle mass and energy output.

 

Recipe

 

Ingredients:

  • Handful of spinach

  • 1/2 lemon juice

  • 2.5 inches of aloe plant- inner fillet scooped out

  • 10-15 mint leaves

  • 1.5-2 inches of ginger root, peeled a& chopped

  • 2.4-3 inches cucumber, chopped

  • 3 slices of frozen banana

  • 4 frozen strawberries

  • 1 cup coconut water

  • 3 ice cubes

  • 1 scoop of collagen powder (I used Vital Proteins Beauty Water)

  • 1 scoop Philosophie Green Dream
